5 Day Itinerary in Niseko

Day 1 – Welcome to Annupuri

After arriving and settling into Cove Niseko, keep your first day relaxed.

Spend the afternoon collecting your ski equipment from one of the local rental shops before exploring the Annupuri village. There is a ski rental we recommend that you can order online way ahead of time and have it delivered on the day you arrive. That is service. If you've travelled a long distance, there's no better way to recover than a soak at Niseko Annupuri Onsen Yugokorotei known for their mineral-rich natural hot springs and it is 15minute walk form Cove Niseko.

For dinner, enjoy a warm bowl of ramen nest door, burgers across the street , food truck 5 minute way away or Pizza from literally next door .

We always visit the supermarket in Kutchan before our first evening. It's a fun way to discover Japanese ingredients, and we enjoy cooking together back at the chalet.Sashimi is a good thing to buy just before heading home ! and lots of fresh Japanese fruit.

As Cove Niseko is at walking distance to the ski slopes, we tend to ski on every good weather day/ time and fill the rest of the day with other activities.

Day 2 – Powder Snow & Japanese Onsen

Start your morning early and head to the Annupuri Gondola for a full day of skiing or snowboarding. Annupuri is loved for its wide, uncrowded runs and excellent snow conditions, making it ideal for families and confident skiers alike.

Take a leisurely lunch on the mountain before finishing the afternoon with another few runs.

As evening approaches, reward yourself with a traditional Japanese onsen. Sitting in steaming outdoor waters while snowflakes fall around you is one of Niseko's unforgettable experiences.

Enjoy dinner afterwards at one of your favourite local restaurants.

Day 3 – Explore Niseko

Take a break from skiing and discover another side of Niseko.

Begin your morning at Milk Kobo, famous for its fresh cream puffs, cakes, cheeses and locally made ice cream. Wander through the gardens, browse the artisan shops and enjoy coffee with views of Mount Yotei.

In the afternoon, head to Niseko Village for boutique shopping, cafés and a relaxed stroll through the resort.

I like walking 15 Minute in the snow to Niseko Distillery, where visitors can learn about the craft of Japanese whisky and gin production. Depending on availability, you may be able to join a tasting or guided tour and going to the onsen again walking distance before heading home to dinner.

Day 4 – Kutchan & Local Life

Spend the morning exploring Kutchan, the main town serving the Niseko region.

Visit local supermarkets to discover Japanese snacks, fresh seafood, beautifully prepared sushi, seasonal fruit and regional specialities. Many guests enjoy taking home unique ingredients to prepare dinner back at Cove Niseko.

Browse local bakeries, cafés and specialty food stores before enjoying lunch in town.

On your way back, stop for photographs of Mount Yotei if the weather is clear.

Spend a relaxing evening at Cove Niseko with family or friends.

Day 5 – Choose Your Adventure

For your final full day, choose an experience that suits your interests.

You could:

  • Explore neighbouring Moiwa, known for its quieter slopes and fantastic powder.

  • Ski in Grand Hirafu for its larger resort atmosphere.
