When the snow fields melt, river rafting becomes one of Niseko’s most popular summer activities.
The 126km long Shiribetsu River offers a variety of spots to embark on rafting tours. Shiribetsu River is one of the cleanest in Japan and offers 7km of white water rapids as well as some gentle stretches for thrill-seekers of all abilities.

Summer in Niseko
Niseko is well known for the powder ski. But really, I think it is underestimated for the summer. Go before everyone else does.

Onsen Bath 15 min walk away from Mespi Lodge
Iroha's open-air baths are free-flowing hot-spring water, rich in moisturizing ingredients for beautiful skin! Their facilities include a large bath, open-air bath, lounging bath, water bath and sauna. I love the outdoor spa.
The quality of the outdoor bath at Ikoi Village contains 248mg of silicic acid, which is said to be effective in beautifying the skin when water contains more than 50mg, so great effects can be expected! The spring water also contains sodium and hydrogen carbonate, a rarity in Japan. The spring water makes the skin surface soft and clears away the dirt in the sebum.
Walk there or drive there with ample parking. Open to kids and adults.

Our favourite supermarket in Kutchan
Bringing the best of Hokkaido to Cove Niseko’s kitchen!
Shop like a local, eat like a local! A wide range of Hokkaido local food products, top quality meats, variety of fresh seafood and liquor – perfect for home-dining.
Private Chef at Cove Niseko
Chef Tanaka is fun to have in the house where he teaches, entertains and you could learn a trick or two. We had the degustation menu and he prepared a kids menu too. He would simply not tell us which 5 salts were combined in his “special salt’. Mention Mespi Lodge the other name of Cove Niseko and chef will remember.
Ski and Snowboard Lessons
Winterlab is also run by the Property Manager of Cove Niseko which makes it really easy to organise when you stay there and you get some special treatment too.
